Audi teases production e-tron
Audi has kicked off a teaser campaign for its first ever all-electric model, the e-tron.
The electric SUV will launch at “The Charge”, an event to be held next week in San Francisco and live streamed online.
The teaser doesn’t reveal much - typical of such - but it looks quite close to the prototypes Audi has shown us previously.
In terms of specs, exact details aren’t known yet, but we’re expecting two electric motors, one per axle, provide a combined output of 265kW and torque of 561Nm. A boost mode pumps extra electrons into the motors for up to eight seconds to bring those numbers up to 300kW and 664Nm. That’s enough for the 0-100km/h run to happen in less than six seconds, before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 200km/h.
A 95kWh battery pack combined with trick new energy recovery systems should give plenty of range, with Audi claiming over 400km of real world driving.
Production is underway, with pricing and a final on-sale date yet to be confirmed.
