Subaru NZ has added a new entry level Crosstrek to its local range. Priced at $43,990, Subaru says the AWD 2.0L positions itself as ‘a value-packed option for fleet and corporate buyers’.
It’s $5k cheaper than the Premium and is powered by the same 115kW/196Nm 2.0-litre boxer engine, with consumption pegged at 7.2L/100km.

Being the entry model, it misses out on a few things compared with the Premium like the 360 degree camera, high beam assist and side view monitor. It has cloth trim in place of leather and the seats miss out on power adjustment and heater elements too. Another omission is sat nav and it rolls on 17-inch wheels.
Other features shared with the Premium include a centre information display with an 11.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, plus Wireless smartphone charging. AWD and 220mm of ground clearance are a given. The latest generation of EyeSight Driver Assist system features as well.
General Manager of Inchcape, distributor of Subaru in New Zealand, Kym Mellow says the Crosstrek 2.0L model offers huge value in a compact package.
“We envision this variant appealing to our fleet customers, who want to look after their staff with a safe, All-Wheel Drive SUV that’s going to get them where they need to be for work during the week and also able to access any adventure destinations they have planned for the weekend.”
