Due to strict emission regulations, Lamborghini probably won’t release a road-going car without some sort of hybrid system again — but that doesn’t include its production race cars.
Revealed recently by the Italian brand, the Temerario Super Trofeo racer exploits this loophole by retaining its twin-turbo V8, but ditching its electric drive.

With 477kW on tap, this Temerario racer is down on the road-going version by 110kW, but increases the driving drama by being exclusively rear-wheel drive.
It also swaps out the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission found in the road car with a six-speed sequential box.
Though a weight figure isn’t given for this Super Trofeo, the GT3 weighs just 1300kg, which is 390kg lighter than the road-going version.
Aside from the gritty new driveline, this Temerario sports an exterior aesthetic destined for the race track. It gets a new front bumper, new guards, a vented front bonnet, and a large goose neck wing at the rear.

It also retains the large cutouts behind the rear wheels, which gives this supercar a look that’s more akin to the iconic performance machines of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
On the inside it gets an integrated FIA-compliant roll cage and a dashboard covered with Dinamica Infinity material.
As is the case with all these production race cars, these Temerario Super Trofeo cars will not be sold as road legal vehicles, and will be confined to the track.
