BMW New Zealand has announced pricing and specifications for the updated 420i Convertible.
Starting from $123,990, BMW notes this is the first time a 4 Series Convertible has been available in New Zealand since early 2023.
Powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 135kW & 300Nm, drive is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. As for performance, the 420i is able to hit 100km/h in 8.2-seconds.

As far as updates go, the Adaptive LED headlights represent the biggest change to the exterior of the convertible, and are offered as part of the Enhancement Package. This optional $5,700 package also adds metallic paintwork, tyre pressure monitoring, and a Harmon Kardon sound system.
Standard exterior equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, and regular LED headlights which are similar to the pre-facelift 4 Series units.
On the inside, BMW’s curved display takes centre stage, and wireless phone charging comes as standard.

An M Sport Pro package can be optioned for an additional $2,700, adding red M brakes, shadowline lights, and M Sport seatbelts. BMW New Zealand notes that the Enhancement Package has to be optioned to access this M Sport Pro package.
Though no specific date has been put on this new 420i’s arrival, BMW New Zealand has stated that it will be launched “at the end of the year”.
