MV Agusta unleashes new F3 RCs
MV Agusta’s Reparto Corse division is responsible for blurring the lines between the brand’s track success and the showroom floor. Despite the Supersport class being fairly lethargic at the moment, MV RC has released a pair of heavily reworked middleweights.
The World SuperSports-regulation F3 675 and heftier F3 800 have both received power increases as well as meeting the Euro4 emissions standard. The smaller of the duo now makes 95kW at the crank while the larger offers 110kW. An optional race kit comprising a race-spec ECU and SC-Project exhaust system bumps the numbers to 99kW and 114kW respectively. A solo seat cowl, forged billet brake and clutch levers, F3 RC mirror block-offs, machined rearsets, a rear sprocket geared racing, a track stand, a special bike cover and a certificate of origin round out the kit.
Gearboxes of both bikes were given “a complete overhaul” as well, now boasting an up/down quickshifter. The electronics package is based on the race-derived Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System (MVICS). This includes an updated ride-by-wire system offering personalised mappings, rear wheel lift mitigation, Bosch ABS and a revised eight-stage traction control system.
Other changes are in the chassis, which utilises MV’s tubular steel trellis frame with aluminium-alloy plates. New mounting points yield increased rigidity, according to the manufacturer. Covering the frame are full fairings with WSBK livery, though the overall design remains largely the same.
New Zealand pricing and availability are unknown but only 250 of each variant will be produced so don’t bank on a value proposition.
