BMW announce electrified future
The announcements about future electrified vehicles are coming thick and fast now, with BMW being among the latest to announce plans.
Right before the opening of the Frankfurt Motor Show, BMW have announced plans to expand its lineup to feature 25 electrified models, 12 of which fully electric, by 2025. To kick off the expansion, the maker is teasing a previously unannounced EV concept.
BMW says that it will be another Vision-badged concept, "a vision of how we imagine a four-door, fully-electric vehicle between the i3 and i8,” BMW Chairman Harald Krüger said. “It is a vision we want to realize in the foreseeable future. And a further step in our commitment to sustainable mobility.”
A BMW Model 3 fighter? Sounds good to us!
With regard to the 2025 plan, Krüger has confirmed that it will include the Rolls-Royce brand and BMW M vehicles. A future hybridised M3 could be a bit of a laugh...
The BMW Group's EV lineup is set to be beefed in 2019 with the Mini EV, and an X3 EV will join the ranks in 2020. This is alongside the current BMW range of electrified vehicles.
